If you’re petite (under 165cm), we recommend filtering by shorter maxi options or checking each product’s length spec before ordering.

The full length elongates, the right neckline draws the eye up, and the flowing skirt skims rather than clings to the hips and thighs. Look for v-necklines, side ruching and skirts cut full enough to drape not stretchy fabrics that cling.

Absolutely. Many of our maxi dresses are designed specifically for wedding guests, with elegant fabrics and considered necklines. See our Wedding Guest Dresses and Mother of the Bride collections for occasion-specific maxis. Avoid white, ivory and cream — those are reserved for the bride.

Most are jersey, viscose, chiffon, cotton blends or polyester crepe. We choose fabrics that drape well, breathe in Australian heat and wash easily. Fabric is listed on every product page. For travel and everyday wear, jersey and stretch viscose are our top fabric recommendations they don’t wrinkle and wash easily.

Yes we offer maxi styles that work for shorter heights. Look for cuts with a higher waistline and lighter fabrics that don’t drag. Some styles can be tailored shorter if needed. We don’t offer free hemming, but most maxi dresses can be tailored locally for $20–40 to suit your height.
